Utilizing data from the longitudinal CHASE study, collected from clients at InSite, Vancouver's pilot safe injection site, we analyze the cyclical nature of housing use among drug injectors. We link housing stability with data on service access and measures of health outcomes, especially HIV serioconversion. We contextualize this population data with interview data from two studies of residents of Vancouver's Downtown Eastside, to project the significance of housing stability for maintaining or jeopardizing health status.
