Clinical and experimental justification of using probiotics in complex treatment of endogenous anterior uveitis

Author(s): Fadi Al-kayyali

The work is dedicated to increase the efficiency of the treatment for patients suffering of endogenous anterior uveitis. The main objective of the clinical work was to study the antioxidant enzyme activity, and the level of lipid peroxidation products in both blood and in the tear fluids of patients, also to identify opportunities to increase the effectiveness of treatment of endogenous anterior uveitis, by including probiotic Subalin in medical complex treatment. The submissions of clinical, biochemical, and ophthalmologic investigations are compelling justification for the appropriateness of the probiotic Subalin in complex medical treatment of patients with endogenous anterior uveitis. High therapeutic efficiency of Subalin, low toxicity, and significant reduction of the severity of residual inflammatory symptoms in the uveal tract, with a rapid healing period, gives reason to recommend this drug for use in clinical practice with the aim of improving the effectiveness treatment of endogenous anterior uveitis.
