The focus of this special issue “Cancer Genetics and Epigenetics” is on genetic mechanism and development of cancer from a tumor cell along with epigenetic alterations in cancer.
Cancer Genetics involves the cases where the cancer gene carried in an individual from generation to generation in certain families. The epigenetic mechanism in cancer plays as the trigger for cancer initiation and drive cancer progression. Despite irreversible genetic mutation, it deals with reversible alternation in cancer genes, physiological signals which are naturally meant to deter our cells from becoming cancer cells, diverse epigenetic components including chromatin modifiers and the multitude of regulatory noncoding RNAs.
