The attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common mental disorders affecting children. ADHD also affects a great many people. The symptoms of ADHD include inattention (not being able to hold focus), hyperactivity (excess motion that does not suit the setting) and impulsiveness (hasty acts that occur in an unthinking moment). About 8.4 percent of children and 2.5 percent of adults suffer from ADHD. ADHD is most commonly detected in school-age children when this leads to disturbance in the classroom or problems with the schoolwork. This can also influence adults. In boys this is more common than girls.
