Breast cancer is breast cancer which grows from the tissue of the breast. Signs of breast cancer may involve a lump in the breast, breast shape shift, skin dimpling, nipple fluid or red scaly skin patch. In those with distant spread of the disease, bone pain, swollen lymph nodes, shortness of breath or yellow skin may occur. Tetraploidy is a phenomenon that arises at two stages in breast cancer as an intermediate phase when it is still reversible (as in the precancerous stage or when the tumor reaches a certain size and is on its way to aneuploidy and genomic instability). Thus, it is important to distinguish between stable, precancerous and threatening, resulting in tetraploidy in genomic instability. Genetic vulnerability plays a smaller role in some cases. Diagnosis of breast cancer is confirmed by taking a biopsy of the lump.
