Abstract :

From the shoulders up, every aspect of the head and neck affect a person's esthetics and self-confidence. More specifically, the hard and soft tissues of the middle and lower third of the face contribute, to a large or small extent, to dento-facial esthetics, and they're all interrelated. Today, dentists and cosmetic physicians are changing the manner in which they correct issues affecting dental and facial esthetics and embracing a more comprehensive dento-facial approach. A combination of cosmetic dentistry, injectable fillers and neurotoxins and rejuvenation with PRF is now been used. This lecture introduces the use of botulinum toxin for cosmetic purposes like frown lines, crow��?s feet, forehead lines, gummy smiles, masseteric hypertrophy as well as use of derma fillers for correction of nasolabial folds, lips, chin and cheek enhancements as well as nose. Dermal Fillers can be used intra orally for black triangles; also introducing the use of smart blood derivatives-Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) for skin Rejuvenation. Dentist are better trained and more experience in the perioral and facial arena than other specialties. This is a time to think outside the mouth and pioneer a new approach of complete dento facial aesthetics and also; time to integrate facial aesthetics and cosmetic dentistry. A smile doesn't end with beautiful teeth nor should your trip to the dentist.

Biography :

Ritika Arora completed her Graduation in Dental Surgery in 2000 from Delhi. After working for three years in Clinical Practice, she moved to Mumbai in 2003 to complete Master’s degree in Dental Surgery in Periodontics and Oral Implants. Presently, she is working as Professor and HOD in Dept. of Periodontics, VDC Daman, India and as Consultant in various clinics all over Mumbai India. She also has her private clinic Aesthetic Smiles Dental Clinic & Facial Rejuvenation in Mumbai India.
