Nanoscience and Bio-imaging - initially two different research areas tend more and more to merge. The outcome? Highly sophisticated imaging techniques offering new insights in nature or reducing side-effects of clinical therapies-a perfect symbiosis. During the last years important advances from the imaging sector emerged; many of them relying on nanoparticles. Depending on the imaging technique used, it can be e.g. magnetic/metallic nanoparticles, reporter dyes/fluorophores in the nanoscale and so on. Especially in medicine, specific targeting is of utmost importance in order to avoid or reduce side-effects of toxic drugs. Only the combination of bio-imaging with nanoscience led to this success. To underline the importance of this new field we highly encourage you to submit manuscript in the context of nanoscience-bio-imaging to the Journal of Nanoscience and Nanomedicine to consolidate our special issue….
