Biological Pest Control Top Journals
The method used for the control of insecticide pests, mites, weeds and plant diseases is biological control or biocontrol. It depends on predation , parasitism, herbivory or other natural processes, but typically also includes an active role in handling human beings. It can be an important component of Integrated Program for Pest Management (IPM). The basic strategies for biological pest control includes classical in which a natural enemy of a pest is introduced in the hope of gaining control; inductive in which a large number of natural enemies are administered for rapid pest control; and inoculative in which steps are taken to maintain natural enemies by routine recovery. Natural enemies of insect pests including predators, parasitoids, pathogens, and rivals are also regarded as biological control agents. Antagonists are most generally referred to as biological control agents of plant diseases. Biological weed control agents include seed predators, plant pathogens and herbivores. By attacking any one of the same mechanisms for non-target species, biological controls could have side effects on biodiversity, especially when a species is introduced without a thorough understanding. This Journal is based on Biological pest control.
