Evolution

Evolution is the process of development and changes in biological organisms over a period of time with successive generations. Their genes get transformed to their younger generation but in a developed and altered way to support evolution. Evolution occurs with generation in order to cope with the variants and changes in the environment by natural selection and genetic drift. The process of evolution gives rise to biodiversity at different levels that has given way for the varied biological organization throughout the globe. The process of evolution was discovered and brought into light by Charles Darwin and Alfred Russel Wallace. Evolution is most important factor for survival as individuals need to suit themselves according to the changing environment and to find food, avoid predators and resist diseases. The mechanism of evolution is rooted with changes in the DNA as it slowly changes the DNA sequencing in an organism affecting the expression and composition of genes which are the basic units of inheritance. Similar structure of DNA in two different species are considered to be having same ancestors. Evolution can be independent or sometimes organisms might go through co-evolution.
