Patients with respiratory problems receiving glucome are evaluated

Author(s): Sofiya John*

Glycomedicine, a new field of medicine, is now beginning to demonstrate the significance of carbohydrates and their interactions with macromolecules in the pathophysiology of numerous diseases. Their contributions to the emergence of respiratory system illnesses are not an exception. In this review, we sought to ascertain the most recent theories regarding the roles of glycans, glycation products, and their receptors in the pathogenesis of diseases affecting the respiratory system, as well as the potential applications of these biological molecules as therapeutic targets for the treatment of respiratory diseases.Research in the field of glycoscience demonstrates that glycan’s are crucial to the development of respiratory system disorders. Therefore, levels of AGE and their receptors (RAGE) are separate risk factors for illnesses of the respiratory system.
