Anaesthesia

Anaesthesia means "sensational loss" It is called anaesthetics. Anaesthetics are used to relieve discomfort in other areas of the body or to facilitate relaxation during surgical procedures and operations. This reduces the pain and anxiety, allowing a wide variety of surgical procedures. Procedural sedation is used for procedures that do not require general anesthesia and make treatments that would otherwise be uncomfortable or painful to patients. Conscious sedation is characterized as a condition induced by medication that deliberately reduces the degree of consciousness of the patient, during which the patient may respond to verbal commands or light stimulation by contact. Clinical anesthesia is based on physiological knowledge (how the body works) and pharmacology (how the body works with medicines). Detailed information is needed about how the body responds to anesthesia and surgery, and how well-being affects and improves these physiological responses.
