NEURON

NEURON can be defined as a specialized cell which is transmitting nerve impulses a nerve cell. This is the basic building block of the nervous system .in vertebrate animals neurons are the core components of the brain, spinalcord&peripheral nerves.

Types of neurons

There are 3 major types of neurons they are sensory ,motor,interneurons all these three have different functions but the brain needs all of  them to communicate effectively with them .highly specialized nerve cells are responsible for communicating the information both in electrical & chemical forms .

Neuron have 3 basic parts they are cell body , two extensions called an axon&dendrite

Axon look like a long tail that transmits the messages from the cell dendrites look like a branches of tree that receives the messages from the cell
