Pediatric Oncology

Pediatric Oncology is a medical branch dedicated to improving outcomes for children and young adults with syndromes of predisposition to cancer and genetic tumors. The field focuses on translational research, which spans basic science to clinical trials and methods of early diagnosis. Mother and Child Health facilities facilitate free access peer reviewed journal publication as loosely described original studies, scientific findings, and special feature papers in the area of pediatrics. This also contains important contributions to pediatrics from associated areas such as diet, medicine, dentistry, public health, infant health care, human biology, biological sciences, psychology, neuroscience, education, sociology, and nursing.

Pediatric oncology In certain children with childhood cancer , oral sequelae and treatment-related pain may have long-term and possibly fatal effects. Understanding how to treat these patients is important as up to 90 per cent of patients with pediatric oncology may experience some type of oral complication. One challenge is the xerostomia. The subsequent xerostomia becomes incredibly painful leaving the individual in frequent need of coughing to remove the sticky, ropy saliva and moisturize the lips. The sense of taste declines, feeding is unpleasant and patients also lose their appetite for scientific articles on food.
