Video Gaming

A video game is an electronic game that involves interaction with a user interface in order to generate visual feedback on a two- or three-dimensional video display device such as a touchscreen, a virtual reality headset or a monitor / TV set. Video games have become an increasingly important part of the entertainment industry since the 1980s and it's a matter of dispute whether they are also a form of art. The platforms are called electronic systems used to play video games. Video games for one or more platforms are developed and released, and may not be available on others. Specialized platforms like arcade games, which featured the game in a large, typically coin-operated chassis, were common in video arcades in the 1980s, but declined in popularity as other, more affordable platforms became more popular. These include specialized machines such as consoles for video games, and general-purpose computers such as a laptop, mobile, or portable computing devices.
