Abortion is terminating a pregnancy by removing or expelling an embryo or fetus. An abortion that takes place without intervention is known as miscarriage or "spontaneous abortion" and occurs in around 30 to 50 percent of pregnancies. If deliberate steps are taken to terminate a pregnancy, it is called an induced abortion, or "forced miscarriage" less commonly. The unmodified word abortion generally refers to induced abortion. Late termination of pregnancy, also referred to as late-term abortion, is rare , accounting for less than 1% of abortions in the United States, and is usually performed due to extreme fetal deformity, where long-term survival is unlikely, or a risk to the life of the woman. Premature birth has etymologically, from a wide perspective, two atomic indications: 1) interruption or capture of the advancement of a procedure, for this situation non-showed up to-birth or conceived (or conveyance) previously (typical) birth; 2) the demolition of a procedure, for this situation, the demise of the hatchling or incipient organism or the demonstration of slaughtering it. Any interruption of development (with or without conveyance, with or without fetal passing) since starting to birth is remembered for this wide importance; likewise, it incorporates the slaughtering of the undeveloped organism or the embryo.
