General anxiety (or GAD) is characterized by excessive, overwhelming anxiety and concern over daily occurrences without a clear cause of concern. Individuals with symptoms of general anxiety disorder are just waiting for catastrophe and are not afraid of health, money, family, work and school at all times. Brain chemicals such as serotonin, dopamine, and nor epinephrine are naturally present (neurotransmitters). It can be involved. The condition can be caused by many factors including genetics, life experiences and anxiety. It is not fully known what GAD is exactly, but a variety of factors, including genetics, brain chemistry and environmental stress, tend to cause GAD.
