Attention Difficulties In Children

Attention difficulties are when an individual has challenges at a developmentally appropriate level, with sustained attention. Attention difficulties can arise when the child or young person is not engaged in the classroom or can not sit still. Attention difficulties can be diagnosed as ADD or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder ( ADHD). There are many causes of difficulties with attention and an individual may have multiple reasons for difficulties with attention. Examples of possible causes include: environmental factors, early trauma, use of technology, classroom layout and furniture, teaching styles, early learning experiences, learning barriers. It may be that attention difficulties are a symptom of an alternative condition, such as: difficulty of hearing or vision, anxiety, difficulty of processing Specific learning challenges. In isolation, we can support attention difficulties and when they're a symptom of another condition. Our input may be in school, at home and in the community
